MALIK TREY - biography
Malik Trey is a german based music composer and songwriter who has been involved in many projects since 1991.
In 1994, Malik Trey began to make electronic music. Immediately he mastered the fundamental techniques of computer-based composition and developed an intuition for the rythmic and harmonic alignment of electronic instruments. Malik remained dedicated to the learning-process until electronica Label "Corrosive Media" discovered him in 1999 and advanced his career with an appearance on the "EVO SONIC" radio station.
He performed innumerable live appearances and founded the electro-acoustic band project "Tonmenschen" together with Raik Hildebrandt and a host of guest musicians. During this time he met a number of interesting people who expanded his musical horizon considerably. While in Spain for 10 months in 2001 Malik managed to study the country's traditional music with its many fascinating scales and rythms. "Tonmenschen" came to an end in 2003 but managed to achieve great popularity and secure a song on a compilation CD.
At 27 years of age, Malik joined the (Computer) Demo-Scene where he is responsible for the "musical landscaping" of group-projects such as the ATLANTIS group and the NUANCE group. He created some soundtracks for several computer animated short-movies. Malik Trey participated in different competitions of newcomer composers and won some of them...under the pseudonym "Enthur`ny Low Fi" - he started a Solo project characterised by its minimalism. Around the same time Malik also established a band project (Duo Agency) together with musician Manfred Fischer. The Styles of Malik Trey are Soundtrack , Modern Classic , Ambient , Electronica , Chill - Out and Minimalism.
