KWARK - biography
It was with Ambient, 70's psychedelic rock (Pink Floyd, Ozric Tentacles, Gong) and metal that Kwark «trained his ears» and developped a pronounced liking for music.
In 1998, he discovers Goa Trance and gets quickly carried away by the creative and party potential of this music, so 3 years later he decides to go on stage and starts playing around Lyon, especially at the Monde à L'Envers parties with Tajmahal and Gill (Mechanik Rcds). That's when he meets Vincent Villuis and Mahiane with whom he shares a common vision of music and goals and joins Ultimae.
Years go by and Goa slides to Psytrance, Kwark cultivates a powerful airy and groovy style. He starts exporting his dj sets to the south of France (Psytawa parties, Psynapse, Mountain parties,...) Switzerland (Indepen-Dance Festival, Suisse / 2004) and Belgium (Rhakti-Dei Festival / 2005) where he plays his first ambient set.
Kwark keeps such a good souvenir of his musical journey to Belgium that naturally he turns to ambient and distills deep, melodic, ethnic or psychedelic sounds.
