As the name suggests, this is a release that the listener can float away to? whether relaxing on a palm fringed tropical beach, taking an extended steamy hot bath?or just hitting the repeat button on the cd player and drifting off into a land of comfortable dreams. They asked the musicians to imagine that they were lying on a beach in the tropics, having coconut oil slowly rubbed into their shoulders, and to make a tune to fit this moment. The pieces have been placed in a careful and intentional order that guarantees the maximum chill-out quotient. Floatation is an album to travel with, even if you don?t end up leaving the couch.
